AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE GROVEPORT COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT CORPORATION (HEREINAFTER "GROVEPORT CIC") TO SELL THE PROPERTY, LOCATED AT 173 FRONT STREET IN THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, OHIO PURSUANT TO OHIO REVISED CODE SECTION 1724.10(B)

WHEREAS, Ohio Revised Code Section 1724.10 authorizes a municipality to enter into an agreement with a Community Improvement Corporation to serve as the economic development agent for the municipality; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council authorized the Administrator to enter into an Agreement with the Groveport CIC to serve as the City of Groveport's Economic Development Agent pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 1724.10 in Ordinance No. 2002-069 passed July 8, 2002; and,
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 1724.10 (B) and Paragraph No. 12 of the aforementioned Agreement, the City may authorize the Groveport CIC to serve as the City's agent and sell land owned by the City of Groveport without advertising and the receipt of bids; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the property located at 173 Front Street, land which is currently owned by the City, is no longer required by the City for its purposes; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the sale of said tract will promote the welfare of the people of the City of Groveport, stabilize the economy, provide employment, and assist in the development of industrial, commercial distribution and research activities to the benefit of the people of the City of Groveport as well as provide additional opportunities for their gainful employment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:
Section 1: That in accordance with Ohio Revised Code Section 1724.10 (B) the Groveport CIC is hereby authorized to act as the City's agent and sell the property located at 173 Front Street according to the terms set forth in the Real Estate Purchase Agreement and Deed restrictions.
Section 2: That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which are made a part hereof, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
