AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE OHIO FIRE CODE (2017 EDITION) THEREBY AMENDING PART FIFTEEN - FIRE PREVENTION CODE OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT CODIFIED ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 2012-004 (PASSED 1-23-2012) AND ANY OTHER PROVISIONS OF PREVIOUSLY PASSED ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS, AND MOTIONS RELATED THERETO AND IN CONTRAVENTION HEREOF, AND THE DECLARATION OF AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend Part Fifteen of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Groveport, Ohio.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:
Section 1: That a certain document, one (1) copy of which is on file in the Offices of the City of Groveport, being marked and designated as the Ohio Fire Code (2017 Edition, including Appendix Chapters B, C, and D as amended and/or revised), is hereby adopted as the Fire Prevention Code of the City of Groveport (Franklin County) within the jurisdiction of the Madison Township Fire Department in the State of Ohio; for the control of buildings and structures herein provided; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions, and terms of the Ohio Fire Code (2017 Edition, including Appendix Chapters B, C, and D as amended and/or revised) and are hereby referred to, adopted, and made part thereof, as if set out in this Ordinance.
Section 2: That Part Fifteen-Fire Prevention Code of the City of Groveport Codified Ordinances is hereby amended as set forth in Section 1.
Section 3: Inconsistent Legislation/Motions Repealed: That all previous ordinances, resolutions, or motions or parts of ordinances, resolutions, or motions related to the Fire Code for the City of Groveport, Franklin County and within the jurisdiction of the Madison Township Fire Department in the State of Ohio, in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4: That the City of Groveport Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and cause the same to be published as required by law.
Section 5: That this Ordinance be deemed an Emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the health, safety, and general welfare of the community to the extent that this legislation must be enacted in a timely fashion so that Officials/Officers on behalf of the City of Groveport are immediately able to enforce the most current Fire Code; WHEREFORE; this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force upon passage by Council and signature of the Mayor.
