AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITION OF SENIOR ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR, ABOLISHING THE SENIOR SERVICES MANAGER POSITION AND AMENDING THE CITY OF GROVEPORT COMPENSATION/PAYSCALE AND CLASSIFICATION PLANS ACCORDINGLY TO REFLECT THE ADDITION, ABOLISHMENT AND AMENDMENT OF CERTAIN POSITIONS

WHEREAS, it has been determined that it would be in the best interest of the City of Groveport to abolish the position of Senior Services Manager and create the position of Senior Activities Coordinator in the Senior Services Department; and,
WHEREAS, in order to remain competitive based on current market conditions, it is also necessary to amend the pay grades of the Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Worker and the Accounting/Water Billing Clerk job classifications; and,
WHEREAS, to facilitate the stated changes, it is now necessary to amend the City's current Compensation/Payscale and Classification Plans for employees of the City of Groveport.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:
Section 1: That the City of Groveport hereby creates the position of Senior Activities Coordinator, approving the job description therefore, according to Exhibit "A", which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, and the pay grade shall be 5.
Section 2: That the position of Senior Services manager is hereby abolished.
Section 3: That the paygrades of Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Worker shall be amended from grade 1 to 2 and Accounting/Water Billing Clerk from grade 4 to 5.
Section 4: That, accordingly, the City’s Compensation Plan/Payscale and Classification Plan shall be amended to reflect the stated changes and shall become effective January 1, 2027.
Section 5: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
