Title

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR TO SOLICIT PROPOSALS AND TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE COMPANY OR FIRM THAT SUBMITS THE MOST BENEFICIAL AND/OR ACCEPTABLE PROPOSAL TO THE CITY FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES AT THE FOLLOWING CITY FACILITIES: MUNICIPAL BUILDING, TOWN HALL, RECREATION CENTER, POLICE DEPARTMENT, GOLF COURSE CLUB HOUSE, CROOKED ALLEY KIDSPACE, PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY, AND THE PUBLIC SPACES IN THE RAREY'S PORT AND WERT'S GROVE BUILDINGS AND THE DECLARATION OF AN EMERGENCY

Body

WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City to keep the following City facilities neat and clean: Municipal Building, Town Hall, Recreation Center, Police Department, Golf Course Club House, Crooked Alley KidSpace, Public Works facility and the public spaces in the Rarey's Port and Wert's Grove buildings; and,

 

WHEREAS, it is necessary to seek proposals for janitorial services at the stated City facilities.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:

 

Section 1That the Administrator is hereby authorized to solicit proposals and enter into a contract with the company or firm that submits the most beneficial and/or acceptable proposal to the City for janitorial services at the above-referenced facilities.

 

Section 2That this Ordinance is hereby deemed an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the health, safety, and general welfare of the community to the extent that this legislation must be enacted in a timely fashion due to the current contract expiring March 1, 2023 and notice from Corvus that they will not be able to renew for the current price; WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and signature of the Mayor.
