Title

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PAY GRADE FOR THE CAPTAIN CLASSIFICATION IN THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE AND THE DECLARATION OF AN EMERGENCY

Body

WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the pay grade for the Captain classification in the Department of Police to assure that the compensation for said position is commensurate for the current duties of this classification.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:

 

Section 1:  That the pay grade for the Captain classification is hereby amended from grade 19 to grade 20.

 

Section 2:   That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto which are made a part hereof, this Ordinance be deemed an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the health, safety and general welfare of the community to the extent the Captain classification must have a pay grade that is commensurate with the current duties of this position; WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage by Council and signature of the Mayor, further this Ordinance shall be retroactive back to July 1, 2020 in its application.
