AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO ENTER INTO A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT WITH THE LIEUTENANT(S) OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT POLICE DEPARTMENT WHO ARE ALSO MEMBERS OF THE OHIO PATROLMEN'S BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION, AND THE DECLARATION OF AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, representatives of the City's Administration and the Ohio Patrolmen's Benevolent Association have successfully negotiated a collective bargaining agreement with respect to the lieutenant(s) of the Groveport Division of Police.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:
Section 1: That the City Administrator is hereby authorized to enter into a three (3) year Collective Bargaining Agreement, effective July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2024, with the lieutenant(s) of the Groveport Division of Police who are members of the Ohio Patrolmen's Benevolent Association.
Section 2: That this Ordinance is declared an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the health, safety and general welfare of the City, as this Ordinance must be enacted in a timely manner to maintain vital city services; WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage by Council and signature of the Mayor.
