AN ORDINANCE AMENDING GROVEPORT CODIFIED ORDINANCE SECTIONS 123.03, 145, AND 1321.27 TO SET CREDIT CARD CONVENIENCE FEES FOR PAYMENTS RECEIVED BY COMMUNITY AFFAIRS, THE RECREATION CENTER, AND THE BUILDING AND ZONING DEPARTMENT.

WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend Codified Ordinance Sections 123.03, 145, and 1321.27 to assess credit card convenience fees for transactions processed by the City of Groveport Community Affairs, Recreation Center, and Building and Zoning Department; and,
WHEREAS, those conducting business with the City of Groveport have various payment options other than credit cards, and as such, the City of Groveport should not be responsible for the costs or fees incurred when processing credit card transactions; and,
WHEREAS, the stated departments will recognize a cost savings based on implementation of these fees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:
Section 1: That Groveport Codified Ordinance Section 123.03 is hereby amended according to the attached Exhibit A which is made a part hereof.
Section 2: That Groveport Codified Ordinance Section 145 is hereby amended according to the attached Exhibit B which is made a part hereof.
Section 3: That Groveport Codified Ordinance Section 1321.27 is hereby amended according to the attached Exhibit C which is made a part hereof.
Section 4: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
