AN ORDINANCE SETTING THE ANNUAL COST OF LIVING ADJUSTMENT FOR THE COMPENSATION OF THE EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT AND THE DECLARATION OF AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the compensation program for the employees of the City of Groveport allows for an annual cost of living adjustment based on the data bases set forth in the Compensation Plan established in Ordinance No. 17-002, passed 1-23-2017.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:
Section 1: That the maximum pay for all pay grades as established by Council shall be increased by 2% pursuant to the attached Exhibit "A", which is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
Section 2: That this Ordinance be deemed an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the health, safety and general welfare of the community to the extent that this legislation must be enacted in a timely manner so that the City can have the aforementioned amended pay scale in place prior to advertising for seasonal employees in early February; WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage by Council and signature of the Mayor.
