Title

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR TO SOLICIT BIDS AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LOWEST RESPONSIVE AND RESPONSIBLE BIDDER FOR THE PURCHASE AND/OR LEASE OF UP TO FOUR (4) 2016 STARCRAFT MVP 28-PASSENGER SHUTTLE BUSES, OR THE EQUIVALENT, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND THE DECLARATION OF AN EMERGENCY

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City has previously created the Department of Transportation in Ordinance 15-013 (passed 4/13/2015); and

 

WHEREAS, it is now necessary to acquire vehicles to provide transportation services in conjunction with the Groveport Rickenbacker Employee Access Transit (GREAT) program.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:

 

Section 1:  That the Administrator is hereby authorized to solicit bids and enter into a contract with the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for the lease and/or purchase of up to four (4) 2016 Starcraft MVP 28-passenger shuttle buses, or the equivalent for the Department of Transportation.

 

Section 2:  That this Ordinance is hereby deemed an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the health, safety, and general welfare of the community to the extent that this legislation must be enacted in a timely manner so that the City can have vehicles immediately available for the City's GREAT program; WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the passage by Council and signature of the Mayor.
