Title

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR TO ENTER INTO A LICENSING AGREEMENT WITH THE GROVEPORT HERITAGE AND PRESERVATION SOCIETY AND THE DECLARATION OF AN EMERGENCY

Body

WHEREAS, the Groveport Heritage and Preservation Society is desirous of installing signage in a portion of the City's right-of-way on Wirt Road at the entrance to its historical structure located at 536 Wirt Road; and,

 

WHEREAS,  the City has no objection to the installation of said signage provided a licensing agreement is executed by the Groveport Heritage and Preservation Society setting forth its responsibilities and obligations in this limited use of the City's right-of-way.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:

 

Section 1:  That the Administrator is hereby authorized to enter into a licensing agreement with the Groveport Heritage and Preservation Society to allow the installation of signage in the City's right-of-way on Wirt Road at the entrance to its historical building located at 536 Wirt Road as depicted in said agreement.

 

Section 2: That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which are made a part hereof, this Ordinance shall be deemed an emergency measure for the preservation of the health, safety, and general welfare of the community, as this Ordinance must be enacted in a timely manner so that the Heritage Society can have the stated sign in place prior to events scheduled in September; WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and signature of the Mayor.
