Title
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR TO SOLICIT BIDS AND TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LOWEST RESPONSIVE AND RESPONSIBLE BIDDER FOR IMPROVEMENTS/RENOVATIONS AT THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING AND NEWLY ACQUIRED POLICE FACILITY AND THE DECLARATION OF AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, Council wishes to move forward with improvements at the municipal building and new police facility.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:
 
Section 1: That the Administrator is hereby authorized to solicit bids for improvements/renovations at municipal building and newly acquired police facility and is further authorized to enter into a contract with the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for the construction thereof.
 
Section 2:   That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto which are made a part hereof this Ordinance is hereby declared and emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the health, safety, and general welfare of the community to the extent this legislation must be enacted in a timely fashion to assure that the new Police Department building is operational as soon as possible to avoid any disruption in the provision of safety services to the community; WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force upon passage by Council and signature of the Mayor.
