AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING GRANT APPLICATION PROCESS FOR THE CITY OF GROVEPORT
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Groveport annually supports many non-profit, civic organization, and various individuals in their efforts to improve the quality of life in Groveport; and
WHEREAS, the Council is desirous of setting the granting procedures for monies given to these organizations and/or individuals.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, OHIO:
Section 1: That there is hereby established a grant application process for non-profit, civic organization, and various individuals making financial requests from the City for various projects. This process shall include an application, as attached, and a written explanation of the program requesting funding.
Section 2: That all grant applications must be submitted at least 45 days in advance of the date the funds are needed to allow for review and consideration by the City Council or City Administrator.
Section 3: Funds will be awarded annually based on need, the goals of the Council, and funds availability. All funds granted must be supported by written documentation for the expenditure of the funds and the City of Groveport reserves the right to audit the financial records of the organization for appropriateness in the use of the grant monies.
Section 4: That projects will be funded pursuant to the stipulations on the stated application and shall not be funded from one year to the next. Requests for funding must be submitted annually.
Section 5: That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto which are made a part hereof this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force upon passage by Council and signature of the Mayor.
