AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITION OF AQUATICS COORDINATOR, ACCEPTING THE POSITION DESCRIPTION AND PAY GRADE THEREFORE, AND AUTHORIZING ONE (1) ADDITIONAL FULL-TIME POSITION IN THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, it has been determined that an increase in authorized staffing level for the Parks and Recreation Department is appropriate to assure coordination of recreation programs; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to create the position of Aquatics Coordinator in the Parks and Recreation Department, and establish the pay grade therefore; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 3.01 (A)(4) of the Groveport City Charter, Council can establish or authorize the number of employees in the various offices, departments, divisions, bureaus, boards, and commissions of the Municipality; and,
WHEREAS, due to the creation of the stated position, it will be necessary to increase the authorized strength for the Parks and Recreation Department by adding the full-time position of Aquatics Coordinator.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:
Section 1: That there is hereby created the position of Aquatics Coordinator in the Parks and Recreation Department, the position description attached hereto is accepted, and the pay grade for said position shall be Grade 10.
Section 2: That the authorized strength of staff for the Parks and Recreation Department shall be increased to include the full-time position of Aquatics Coordinator.
Section 3: That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto which are made a part hereof, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
