AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO PURCHASE A JOHN DEERE BACKHOE FOR THE PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT UNDER THE SOURCEWELL COOPERATIVE PURCHASE PLAN, THEREBY WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING PURSUANT TO GROVEPORT CITY CHARTER SECTION 9.02(B)
Body
WHEREAS, the City is permitted to purchase items under the Sourcewell cooperative contract; and
WHEREAS, Section 9.02 (B) of the Groveport City Charter permits the waiving of competitive bidding where the statutory or common law of Ohio does not require competitive bidding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:
Section 1: That the Administrator is hereby authorized to purchase a John Deere Backhoe for the Public Services Department in accordance with the Sourcewell cooperative contract, thereby waiving competitive bidding pursuant to Section 9.02 (B) of the Groveport City Charter.
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall take force and be in full effect at the earliest time provided by law.
