Title

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 2005-090 AUTHORIZING A CASH BENEFIT FOR EMPLOYEES WHO ARE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE HEALTH INSURANCE AND CHOOSE NOT TO RECEIVE SAID COVERAGE

 

Body

WHEREAS, there has been a substantial increase in the cost of providing health care coverage for eligible employees of the City of Groveport; and

 

WHEREAS, for this reason, it is desirable to amend the cash benefit for employees eligible to receive health insurance through the City of Groveport but who choose not to receive said coverage which in turn will save the City of Groveport costs incurred for providing health care premiums.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:

 

Section 1:  That an employee who is eligible to participate in the City of Groveport’s health insurance coverage and chooses not to receive said coverage, is not covered by a spouse or parent working for the City of Groveport, shall receive a monthly cash benefit of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or Six-Thousand Dollars ($6,000.00) per year.

 

Section 2:  That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and at the earliest time provided by law.
