AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH CLUB CAR FOR THE PURCHASE OF SEVENTY EIGHT (78) GPS UNITS FOR THE MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE CART FLEET, THEREBY WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING PURSUANT TO GROVEPORT CITY CHARTER SECTION 9.02(B)

WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Administrator to enter into a contract with Club Car for the purchase of seventy eight (78) GPS units for the Municipal Golf Course Cart Fleet; and,
WHEREAS, Section 9.02(B) of the Groveport City Charter permits the waiving of competitive bidding where the Statutory or Common Law of Ohio does not require competitive bidding; and
WHEREAS, the GPS units to be purchased involve a single source provider, Club Car.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:
Section 1: That the Administrator is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Club Car for the purchase of seventy eight (78) GPS units for the Municipal Golf Course Cart Fleet, thereby waiving competitive bidding pursuant to Section 9.02(B) of the Groveport City Charter, as said contract involves the purchase of GPS units from a single source provider.
Section 2: That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto which are made a part hereof, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
