AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE TRANSFER OF CANAL LANDS VIA A GOVERNOR'S DEED AND AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF OHIO, DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES FOR SAID TRANSFER AND THE DECLARATION OF AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the State of Ohio, Ohio Department of Natural Resources is willing to transfer Canal Lands to the City of Groveport; and
WHEREAS, in order for the City to receive the Canal Lands, the Administrator must execute an agreement with the State of Ohio Department of Natural Resources and accept a Governor's Deed conveying said tracts as soon as possible.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:
Section 1: That the Administrator is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for the transfer of Canal Lands to the City of Groveport.
Section 2: That the Administrator is further authorized to accept a Governor's Deed on behalf of the City of Groveport transferring said tracts.
Section 3: That this Ordinance is hereby deemed an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the health, safety, and general welfare of the community as the City must acquire the tracts is question to facilitate utility extensions and future improvements to Rohr Road; WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and signature of the Mayor.
