A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE 2023/2024 FRANKLIN COUNTY MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL NATURAL HAZARDS MITIGATION PLAN UPDATE

WHEREAS, Franklin County and jurisdictions within its limits recognize the threat that natural hazards pose to people and property within Franklin County; and,
WHEREAS, the County and jurisdictions within its limits have prepared a multi-hazard mitigation plan, hereby known as the 2023/2024 Franklin County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan Update (the “2023/2024 Plan Update”) in accordance with federal laws, including the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, as amended; the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968, as amended; and the National Dam Safety Program Act, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the 2023/2024 Plan Update identifies mitigation goals and actions to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to people and property in Franklin County and jurisdictions within its limits from the impacts of future hazards and disasters; and
WHEREAS, adoption by Franklin County and jurisdictions within its limits demonstrates its commitment to hazard mitigation and achieving the goals outlined in the 2023/2024 Plan Update.
WHEREAS, adoption of the stated 2023/2024 Plan Update is a condition of eligibility to receive federal mitigation funds available through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:
Section 1: That the City hereby adopts the 2023/2024 Franklin County Multi-Jurisdictional Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan Update.
Section 2: That the City acknowledges that while content in the 2023/2024 Plan Update related to Franklin County and the City of Groveport may require revisions to meet FEMA's approval requirements for the plan, changes occurring after adoption of this Resolution will not require the City of Groveport to re-adopt further iterations of the 2023/2024 Plan Update.
