AN ORDINANCE DEFINING AND ESTABLISHING MEMBERS OF THE CLASSIFIED AND UNCLASSIFIED SERVICE FOR EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT
Body
WHEREAS, upon attaining city status, the Groveport Charter mandates that the City establish and define a classified and unclassified service for all Groveport employees to ensure the implementation of civil service requirements with respect to the City's employment practices and procedures.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:
Section 1: That the following positions shall be members of the unclassified service for the City of Groveport: Administrator, Director of Law, Finance Director, Clerk of Council, Clerk of Court, Public Service Director, Chief Building Official, Recreation Director, Community Affairs Director, Director of Golf, Economic Development Director, City Engineer, Director of Transportation & Senior Services, Personnel Director, Information Technology Director, Police Captain, Parks and Facilities Superintendent, Public Works Superintendent, Aquatics Manager, Sports & Fitness Manager, Customer Service Coordinator - Recreation, Recreation Coordinator, and all part-time, interns and seasonal employees.
Section 2: That all other employees of the City of Groveport shall be members of the classified service, and, therefore, shall be governed by Article VIII, Section 8.01(B) and (C) of the Groveport Charter.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
