AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PAY GRADE FOR THE FINANCE DIRECTOR, CHIEF OF POLICE, AND POLICE CAPTAIN CLASSIFICATIONS AND THE DECLARATION OF AN EMERGENCY

Body

WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the pay grade for the Finance Director, Chief of Police, and Police Captain classifications to assure that the compensation for said positions are commensurate with the responsibilities and duties performed as well as current market rates.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:

 

Section 1:  That the pay grade for the Finance Director is hereby amended from grade 9 to grade 10, Chief of Police is hereby amended from grade 9 to grade 10, and Police Captain classification is hereby amended from grade 8 to grade 9; current salaries are hereby moved to the same level on the new grade.

 

Section 2:  That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto which are made a part hereof, this Ordinance be deemed an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the health, safety and general welfare of the community to the extent that the stated positions must have a pay grade that is commensurate with the current duties of those vital positions in the City's Administrative and Police Departments; WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage by Council and signature of the Mayor.
