AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITION OF PART-TIME PROPERTY MAINTENANCE INSPECTOR, ACCEPTING THE POSITION DESCRIPTION AND PAY GRADE THEREFORE, POSITION IN THE BUILDING AND ZONING DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, it has been determined that an increase in authorized staffing level for the Building and Zoning Department is appropriate to assure compliance with the City's Property Maintenance Code; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to create the position of Part-Time Property Maintenance Inspector in the Building and Zoning Department, and establish the pay grade therefore; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 3.01 (A)(4) of the Groveport City Charter, Council can establish or authorize the number of employees in the various offices, departments, divisions, bureaus, boards, and commissions of the Municipality; and,
WHEREAS, due to the creation of the stated position, it will be necessary to increase the authorized strength for the Building and Zoning Department by adding the part-time position of Property Maintenance Inspector.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:
Section 1: That there is hereby created the position of Part-Time Property Maintenance Inspector in the Building and Zoning Department, the position description attached hereto is accepted, and the pay grade for said position shall be Grade 11.
Section 2: That the authorized strength of staff for the Building and Zoning Department shall be increased to include the part-time position of Property Maintenance Inspector.
Section 3: That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto which are made a part hereof, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
