AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITION OF CITY ENGINEER, ACCEPTING THE POSITION DESCRIPTION AND ESTABLISHING THE PAY GRADE, AND THE DECLARATION OF AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, it is Council's desire to have the Administrator appoint an on-staff, city engineer, and,
WHEREAS, in fulfilling Council's directive it is necessary to create the position of City Engineer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:
Section 1: That there is hereby created the position of City Engineer, the position description attached hereto is accepted, and the pay grade for said position shall be Grade 23.
Section 2: That this Ordinance be deemed an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the health, safety and general welfare of the community to the extent that this legislation must be enacted in a timely manner in order for the City Engineer to be in place as soon as possible. WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage by Council and signature of the Mayor.
