AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF PARCEL NO. 185-000200 LOCATED AT 490 MAIN STREET OWNED BY KENNETH E. STEBELTON AND THE DECLARATION OF AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of the City of Groveport if it purchased the above-referenced property; and
WHEREAS, a contract has been negotiated between the City and Kenneth E. Stebelton, the record owner of said property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:
Section 1: That the Administrator is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the purchase of Parcel No. 185-000200, which is located at 490 Main Street in the City of Groveport, according to the terms of the real estate purchase agreement negotiated by the City and Mr. Stebelton.
Section 2: That this Ordinance be deemed an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the health, safety, and general welfare of the community as this legislation must be enacted in a timely fashion in order for the City to acquire said property within the time frame stipulated in the real estate purchase agreement for this matter; WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force after its passage by Council and signature of the Mayor.
