AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PART THREE - TRAFFIC CODE, TITLE FIVE - VEHICLES, CHAPTER 339 - COMMERCIAL AND HEAVY VEHICLES, SECTION 339.02 (b) LOCAL PERMIT AND CONDITIONS OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT AND THE DECLARATION OF AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the City is desirous of utilizing the services of the Franklin County Engineer's Office as to the issuance of permits for commercial, overweight and/or oversized vehicle operators when traveling on the local streets of the City of Groveport to help provide safety, protect local roadways from excessive wear and tear and provide uniformity in the process of issuing said permits; and,
WHEREAS, in order to facilitate the County Engineer's administration and/or enforcement of the stated process, it is necessary to amend the above referred Section of the Groveport Codified Ordinances.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:
Section 1: That Part Three - Traffic Code, Title Five - Vehicles, Chapter 339 - Commercial and Heavy Vehicles, Section 339.02 (b) Local Permit and Conditions of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Groveport, is hereby amended in accordance with Exhibit "A", which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2: That this Ordinance is hereby deemed an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the health, safety, and general welfare of the community to the extent that this Ordinance must be enacted in a timely manner as there are currently construction projects that are taking or scheduled to take place in or near the City where commercial, overweight and/or oversized vehicles are or will be traveling on the local roadways within the City; WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and signature of the Mayor.
