Title
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CITY OF COLUMBUS COOPERATIVE PURCHASE PLAN AND PURCHASE A FORD F250 UTILITY TRUCK, INCLUDING ANCILLARY EQUIPMENT FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT THEREBY WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING PURSUANT TO GROVEPORT CITY CHARTER SECTION 9.02(B) AND THE DECLARATION OF AN EMERGENCY
Body
WHEREAS, the City is permitted to purchase items under Federal, State, and Local government cooperative purchasing plans; and

WHEREAS, Section 9.02 (B) of the Groveport City Charter permits the waiving of competitive bidding where the statutory or common law of Ohio does not require competitive bidding.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:

Section 1: That the Administrator is hereby authorized to participate in the City of Columbus Cooperative Purchase Plan and purchase a Ford F250 utility truck and ancillary equipment for the Public Works Department thereby waiving competitive bidding pursuant to Section 9.02 (B) of the Groveport City Charter.

Section 2: That in accordance with Section 1 above, the Administrator is authorized and/or directed to execute any and all agreements with the City of Columbus and any vendors necessary to facilitate the City's participation in the City of Columbus Cooperative Purchase Plan.

Section 3: That this Ordinance is hereby deemed an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the health, safety, and general welfare of the community to the extent that this legislation must be enacted in a timely fashion in order for the City to take advantage of the Columbus Cooperative Purchase Plan Bid Contract; WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and signature of the Mayor.
