Title

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO ENTER INTO A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT WITH THE PATROL OFFICERS AND DETECTIVES OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT POLICE DEPARTMENT WHO ARE ALSO MEMBERS OF THE FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE, CAPITAL CITY LODGE # 9, AND THE DECLARATION OF AN EMERGENCY

Body

WHEREAS, representatives of the City's Administration and the Fraternal Order of Police, Capital City Lodge #9, have successfully negotiated a collective bargaining agreement with respect to the patrol officers and detectives of the Groveport Division of Police.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:

 

Section 1:  That the City Administrator is hereby authorized to enter into a three (3) year Collective Bargaining Agreement, effective July 1, 2015, with the patrol officers and detectives of the Groveport Division of Police who are members of the Fraternal Order of Police, Capital City Lodge #9.

 

Section 2:  That this Ordinance is declared an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the health, safety and general welfare of the City, as this Ordinance must be enacted in a timely manner to maintain vital city services; WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage by Council and signature of the Mayor.
