AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR TO RENAME THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT AND TO ADD AND/OR ABOLISH CERTAIN POSITIONS IN THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS IN THE CITY OF GROVEPORT

WHEREAS, it has been determined necessary to add and/or abolish certain positions in the various departments in the City of Groveport to address staffing needs in said departments; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 3.01 (A)(4) of the Groveport City Charter, Council can establish or authorize the number of employees in the various offices, departments, divisions, bureaus, boards, and commissions of the Municipality.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:
Section 1: That the Administrator is hereby authorized to change the name of the Parks and Recreation Department to Recreation Department; abolish the Operations Manager position in Recreation Department; add the position of Customer Service Coordinator in Recreation Department; add two (2) Full-time Clerks in Recreation Department; add two (2) Police Officers to the Police Department; and add one (1) Administrative Assistant to Engineering Department.
Section 2: That the authorized strength of staff for the Departments as set forth in Section 1 above shall be modified accordingly to reflect the change in staffing levels as a result of the duly authorized actions of the Administrator.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
