Title

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO PREPARE AND SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE OHIO PUBLIC WORKS COMMISSION STATE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT AND/OR LOCAL TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM(S) AND TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE MAJOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL UPGRADE PROJECT AT HAMILTON ROAD AND FIREHOUSE LANE

Body

WHEREAS, the State Capital Improvement Program and the Local Transportation Improvement Program both provide financial assistance to political subdivisions for capital improvements to public infrastructure; and,

 

WHEREAS, the City of Groveport is planning to make capital improvements in conjunction with the Major Traffic Signal Upgrade Project at Hamilton Road and Firehouse Lane; and,

 

WHEREAS, the above-described infrastructure improvement is considered to be a priority need for the community and is a qualified project under the OPWC programs.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:

 

Section 1:  That the City Administrator is hereby authorized to apply to the OPWC for funds as described above.

 

Section 2:  That the City Administrator is further authorized to enter into any agreements as may be necessary and appropriate for obtaining this financial assistance.

 

Section 3:  That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto which are made a part hereof, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
