AN ORDINANCE ABOLISHING THE POSITION OF PART-TIME PROPERTY MAINTENANCE INSPECTOR, AND CREATING THE POSITION OF PROPERTY MAINTENANCE INSPECTOR/CODE COMPLIANCE OFFICER, ACCEPTING THE POSITION DESCRIPTION AND PAY GRADE THEREFORE, POSITION IN THE BUILDING AND ZONING DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, it has been determined that an increase in authorized staffing level for the Building and Zoning Department is appropriate to assure compliance with the City's Property Maintenance Code; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to abolish the position of Part-Time Property Maintenance Inspector and create the position of Property Maintenance Inspector/Code Compliance Officer in the Building & Zoning Department, and establish the pay grade therefore; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 3.01 (A)(4) of the Groveport City Charter, Council can establish or authorize the number of employees in the various offices, departments, divisions, bureaus, boards, and commissions of the Municipality; and,
WHEREAS, due to the creation of the stated position, it will be necessary to increase the authorized strength for the Building and Zoning Department by abolishing the part-time position of Property Maintenance Inspector and adding the position of Property Maintenance Inspector/Code Compliance Officer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:
Section 1: That the position of Part-Time Property Maintenance Inspector is hereby abolished and the position of Property Maintenance Inspector/Code Compliance Officer in the Building and Zoning Department is hereby created, the position description attached hereto is accepted, and the pay grade for said position shall be Grade 11.
Section 2: That the authorized strength of staff for the Building and Zoning Department shall be increased to include the position of Property Maintenance Inspector/Code Compliance Officer.
