AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO PREPARE AND SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES NATUREWORKS PROGRAM AND TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE BIXFORD GREEN TRAIL PROJECT TO CONNECT PHILLIPS RUN TO THE BLACKLICK TRAIL

WHEREAS, the State of Ohio through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, administers financial assistance for public recreation purposes, through the State of Ohio NatureWorks grant program; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Groveport desires financial assistance under the NatureWorks grant program; and,
WHEREAS, the above-described infrastructure improvement is considered to be a priority need for the community and is a qualified project under the NatureWorks program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:
Section 1: That the City Administrator is hereby authorized to apply to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for funds as described above.
Section 2: That the City Administrator is further authorized to enter into any agreements as may be necessary and appropriate for obtaining this financial assistance.
Section 3: That the City Administrator does agree to obligate the funds required to satisfactorily complete the proposed project and become eligible for reimbursement under the terms of the NatureWorks Grant Program.
Section 4: That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto which are made a part hereof, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
