AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH AXON ENTERPRISE, INC. FOR THE PURCHASE OF A BODY CAMERA SYSTEM FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE DECLARATION OF AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, Council may waive competitive bidding pursuant to the Groveport City Charter, Section 9.02(B) for any purpose where the Statutory or Common Law of Ohio does not require advertising and competitive bidding.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:

 

Section 1:  That the Administrator is hereby authorized to waive competitive bidding pursuant to Groveport City Charter, Section 9.02(B) and further authorized to enter into a contract with Axon Enterprise, Inc. as said contract involves the provision of goods and/or services from a single source provider.

 

Section 2:  That this Ordinance be deemed an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the health, safety and general welfare of the community as this legislation must be enacted in a timely manner so that the Police Department can take advantage of favorable pricing for said equipment prior to the first of the year. WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force upon passage by Council and signature of the Mayor.
