Title

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH GROVEPORT MADISON SCHOOL DISTRICT TO PROVIDE A SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER AND THE DECLARATION OF AN EMERGENCY

Body

WHEREAS, the Groveport Madison School District has submitted a request to continue the School Resource Officer program.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:

 

Section 1:  That the Administrator is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Groveport Madison School District for a School Resource Officer during the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 school years.

 

Section 2That this Ordinance is hereby deemed an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the health, safety, and general welfare of the community to the extent that this legislation must be enacted in a timely fashion to assure the School Resource Officer is in place for the upcoming school year; WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and signature of the Mayor.
