Title

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR TO ENTER INTO ANY AND ALL NECESSARY AGREEMENTS WITH THE FRANKLIN COUNTY ENGINEER'S OFFICE AND/OR FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO ATTACH TO THE COUNTY'S BID TO RESURFACE A PORTION OF MAIN STREET IN THE CITY OF GROVEPORT AND THE DECLARATION OF AN EMERGENCY

Body

WHEREAS, the Franklin County Engineer's Office is bidding on the resurfacing of streets within its jurisdiction on an annual basis to maintain various roadways, and

 

WHEREAS, the City has the opportunity to take part in the stated bidding process to resurface a portion of Main Street.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:

 

Section 1:  That the Administrator is hereby authorized to enter into any and all Agreements necessary with the Franklin County Engineer's Office and/or Franklin County Commissioners to attach to the County's bid to resurface a portion of Main Street, thereby waiving competitive bidding pursuant to Groveport City Charter Section 9.02(B).

 

Section 2:  That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto which are made a part hereof this Ordinance is hereby declared and emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the health, safety, and general welfare of the community to the extent that this legislation must be enacted in a timely fashion so that the City has the ability to take part in the bidding process; WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force upon passage by Council and signature of the Mayor.
