Title

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT A GRANT FROM THE FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSION ON AGING SENIOR OPTIONS GRANT PROGRAM FOR THE SENIOR TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE ANY AGREEMENT NECESSARY TO RECEIVE SAID GRANT FUNDING AND THE DECLARATION OF AN EMERGENCY

Body

WHEREAS, the City is desirous of applying for and accepting a grant for the Senior Transportation Program from the Franklin County Commission on Aging Senior Options Grant Program; and,

 

WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Administrator to execute the Grant Agreement as soon as possible to assure the continued operation of the Senior Transportation Program.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVEPORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, A MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:

 

Section 1:   That the Administrator is hereby authorized to apply for and accept a grant from the Franklin County Commission on Aging Senior Options Grant Program and execute any agreement with the Franklin County Commission on Aging necessary to receive said grant funding.

 

Section 2:  That this Ordinance is hereby deemed an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the health, safety, and general welfare of the community to the extent this legislation must be enacted in a timely fashion to assure the continued operation of the City's Senior Transportation Program; WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and signature of the Mayor.
